Santana will try and push through their fast tracked gold mine within a matter of weeks. So it’s important that as many people as possible are informed, understand some of the horrendous issues, and know what they can do about it.
We are holding a further urgent public meeting on 26 August 2025, this time in Cromwell, just a few kilometres from the mine site. Further details about the meeting, and the mine, are below on this page, but here’s the sign-up form to attend either of the meetings.
It helps us if you sign up for the meeting – so that we can have enough room for everyone and can plan accordingly. Your details will not be shared. Please complete one full sign-up per person.
Here are details of the meeting:
6:00pm – 8:00pm Tuesday 26th August 2025
Cromwell & Districts Presbyterian Church
10 Elspeth St, Cromwell.
Organised by concerned community groups
These evenings have been organised by a combination of concerned groups and are being coordinated by volunteers at Sustainable Tarras Inc. Our thanks to other volunteers who are generously putting in time from Dunedin, Central Otago, and further afield. A special thank you to the Central Otago Environmental Society and also Central Otago Lakes Forest & Bird, for their input and support.
