Donate to the fight against a controversial, fast track mine at Tarras

Santana Minerals is planning one of a series of open case goldmines in the Dunstan Mountains – if it goes ahead it will be one of the largest goldmines in the Southern Hemisphere. Once again we’re up against a heavy hitting corporate with deep pockets. We need to be able to fund experts to fully understand the economic, environmental and social impacts of the mine, plus get to grips with the untested Fast Track Approvals Act. We are fighting this hard.

We’re small, and Santana Minerals is a large, well funded Australian mining company. These fights are complicated. We need experts to gather evidence on the impacts to the existing economy, to the environment – especially water and to understand the direct and indirect implications for locally, regionally and nationally. We will also need legal assistance.

Help us fight.
